The final months of the club were a far cry from its 1990s heyday. Community discussions on Reddit's r/AskNYC from late 2021 paint a dismal picture of a venue gasping for air. Former visitors reported that half the animatronics sat dark, wrapped in dust. The hydraulic components sputtered without necessary maintenance, leaving severed heads frozen mid-sentence and secret passages stuck open.

Staff members worked without consistent supplies, and customers routinely noted missing menu items alongside long waits for basic bar food. When local sheriffs finally posted the physical eviction notice on the doors at 216 West 44th Street, the venue’s website went dark overnight, canceling hundreds of advance bookings.

By early 2023, local urban explorers and theater enthusiasts watched through the street-level windows as workers dismantled the remaining sets. Historic props, Victorian display cases, and animatronic components were sold off to private collectors, independent haunted attractions, and prop houses, scattering the physical remnants of the club across the country.
