Who Is Tydus and How Old Is He? Everything About the Former Youtube Prodigy
By Chloe Bennett
The Talbott family's meteoric ascent took place during a freewheeling era for family vlogging channels. Between 2015 and 2020, production schedules on channels like Trav and Cor, The ACE Family, and Ryan's World were relentless. Cameras captured everything: medical visits, bedtime routines, family holidays, and staged sibling pranks.
Online forums and child welfare advocates regularly debated these practices. Reddit communities dedicated to influencer ethics frequently highlighted Tydus, questioning whether a child under the age of six could meaningfully consent to working on commercial video shoots. Commenters noticed that while Tydus seemed naturally energetic, the financial stakes for his family were immense. Channels operating at this scale routinely commanded six-figure brand partnerships and hefty monthly ad-revenue payouts.
Those public conversations eventually spurred concrete legal reforms:
- States like Illinois and California spearheaded legislation requiring parents to set aside a portion of gross earnings in blind trust accounts for children featured in monetized content, mirroring the historic Coogan Act for Hollywood actors.
- Digital platforms implemented strict child-directed advertising guidelines, ending behavioral tracking on youth content and stripping away standard YouTube comment sections to protect young creators from bad actors.
- Family channels faced sharper public scrutiny, causing many creators to rethink how much of their children's daily lives they should upload.
The Talbotts adapted by diversifying their household projects, shifting toward travel adventures, and giving their children more control over how often they appeared on camera.
