Tulsa Pac 'Oklahoma!' Schedule: Dates, Showtimes, and Opening Night Details
By Robert Thorne
Mounting Oklahoma! in 2026 requires navigating the show’s dual heritage. Audiences are familiar with Daniel Fish’s stark, Tony-winning 2019 Broadway revival, which leaned into psychological darkness and gun violence. Yet regional audiences often crave the soaring orchestration and romantic escapism of the 1943 original.
Tulsa’s creative team has charted a distinct middle ground. The physical staging preserves Agnes de Mille’s kinetic, narrative-driven dance language while sharpening the territorial rivalries between farmers and cattlemen. Jud Fry’s outsider isolation is treated with psychological nuance rather than simple melodrama, allowing the tension of 1906 Indian Territory, on the literal eve of statehood, to drive the dramatic stakes.
Robert Thorne covers electric vehicle innovations, autonomous driving systems, global mobility trends, and automotive engineering developments.
