Red Carpet Photos: Descendants Wicked Wonderland Cast Stuns at Academy Museum Premiere
By Marcus Vance
One of the largest talking points among critics and attendees at the Academy Museum was the introduction of Awkwafina. The Golden Globe winner brought her distinct energy to the checkered carpet in an oversized jade silk suit, posing alongside cast newcomers and returning directors.
Awkwafina plays an enigmatic new iteration of the Cheshire Cat, realized through a mix of dynamic live-action performance and stylized digital extensions. Early reaction blurbs from the premiere screening noted that her comedic pacing injects an unhinged, classic screwball rhythm that balances the high-octane pop choreography of Cantrall and Baker. Additional appearances on the carpet included Dara Reneé (Uliana), Ruby Rose Turner (young Bridget), and Morgan Dudley (young Ella), confirming that the time-travel narrative mechanics introduced in the previous film remain central to this sequel's plot.
