Latest Sims 4 Patch Breaks Adult Yoga Animations: Updates, Fixes, and Patch Notes
Restoring stability after an animation crash requires more than dragging and dropping newly downloaded files. Corrupted posture states remain embedded in your game cache long after you swap out broken files. To clear these issues completely, follow an orderly maintenance routine.
First, clear game cache files. Navigate to your Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/ directory and delete localthumbcache.package, along with any lingering text files beginning with lastException or lastCrash. The game safely regenerates these files upon launch, but clearing them removes corrupted temporary posture maps that force Sims to reset.
Next, scan your setup using a dedicated utility like Mod Conflict Detector. The tool parses packages for duplicate resource IDs and conflicting XML tuning headers. Multiple creators often use identical internal names for baseline yoga mat overrides. When two outdated packages fight over the same interaction slot, the conflict causes script errors even if one pack has been updated.
Finally, isolate utility mods. If you use Andrew's Pose Player alongside the Teleport Any Sim mod for manual staging, ensure both mods sit no more than one subfolder deep inside your Mods folder. Script mods, files ending in .ts4script, fail to execute if buried in nested subdirectories, preventing the animation engine from communicating with the base game runtime.
