Yozoma E-Bike Tear-Down: Motor, Battery, and Component Quality Exposed

Explore in-depth coverage on Yozoma E-Bike Tear-Down: Motor, Battery, and Component Quality Exposed.

Taming a 65-pound bike running at 25 mph demands robust stopping power. The Yozoma comes equipped with unbranded dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes operating on mineral oil. In our brake fade tests, performing ten consecutive emergency stops from 20 mph down to zero, the brakes performed admirably, keeping stopping distances within an average of 14.2 feet. The standard 160mm steel rotors dissipate heat sufficiently for suburban riding, though heavy downhills with full cargo loads induced notable rotor warping and lever sponginess by the eighth stop.

Ride quality centers around its fat tire all-terrain performance. The 4-inch wide knobby tires run at low pressures (18, 22 PSI), absorbing high-frequency road vibrations and providing stability across hard-packed dirt, wet grass, and loose gravel. Do not confuse this with a true mountain bike. The front coil-spring suspension fork features basic mechanical lockouts with zero adjustable rebound damping. Hitting square-edged potholes or rocky roots causes the fork to top out with an audible metallic clunk. It is built for curb hops and rough asphalt, not aggressive trail descents.
