Why Zeke from Wizards of Waverly Place Turned to Adult Content—and Made More Than at Disney

Everything you need to know about Why Zeke from Wizards of Waverly Place Turned to Adult Content—and Made More Than at Disney, covering key takeaways.

In early 2024, Disney announced development on a sequel series, titled Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, with Selena Gomez and David Henrie returning to executive produce and reprise their roles. Entertainment outlets, including PinkNews and Gayety, reached out to Benson to gauge his thoughts on the franchise's revival. His response combined humor with frank self-awareness.

Benson expressed genuine excitement for his former co-stars while acknowledging that his current adult portfolio made a corporate Disney reunion practically impossible. Disney Channel maintains stringent brand safety policies, making a return for Zeke Beakerman an obvious non-starter for network executives. Rather than voicing bitterness, Benson noted that he understood the mechanics of the entertainment business. He had chosen personal financial survival over the slim chance of being called back for nostalgia cameos.
