Why Your Boob Tape Fails: the Red-Carpet Secret Stylists Keep Quiet
Every dress cut presents a different mechanical challenge. A sharp horizontal bandeau neckline requires a very different approach than a deep-plunge sweetheart gown.
For reliable bandeau neckline support, the goal is compression and forward projection rather than dramatic upward lift. In this setup, apply the tape in parallel horizontal bands, working from bottom to top. The first strip anchors just below the inframammary line, while the second overlaps it by 50% across the fullest part of the bust. This keeps the chest profile smooth, compact, and completely invisible under straight, strapless silhouettes.
For deep sweetheart or low-cut strapless gowns, leave the sternum clear. Build support laterally instead: place diagonal tape strips along the side of the ribcage, pulling tissue inward to create soft, natural cleavage. Anchor these strips securely beneath the underarm and along the lower ribcage. This stabilizes the bust without letting any tape peek into the open neckline.
