Why Everyone Is Searching 'East Down and Bound' All over Again
By Elena Rostova
Q1: What is the correct title: "Eastbound and Down" or "East Down and Bound"?
The proper grammatical title is "Eastbound and Down" (or "East Bound and Down" for the Jerry Reed song). Phrases like "east down and bound" are common search engine transposition errors caused by voice searches and casual acoustic recall.
Q2: Where can I stream all episodes of Danny McBride’s Eastbound & Down in 2026?
All four seasons, spanning 29 total episodes, stream exclusively on Max. The series is also available for individual season purchase across digital storefronts like Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
Q3: Did Jerry Reed write "East Bound and Down" specifically for Smokey and the Bandit?
Yes. Director Hal Needham hired Jerry Reed to write and perform the theme music for the 1977 film. Reed wrote the bulk of the song overnight after Needham explained the plot: smuggling 400 cases of Coors beer from Texarkana to Atlanta in 28 hours.
