Who Is 'Tea Tyme' on Tiktok? Everything to Know About the Fatal Livestream Case
The crash happened on the evening of December 23, 2025, along a corridor in Zion, Illinois, a city situated near the Wisconsin border. Tynesha McCarty-Wroten, operating the social account handle "Tea Tyme," was streaming interactive video to hundreds of live viewers while driving her vehicle. Her channel had built a following through informal conversational streams, answering viewer comments and providing everyday commentary on road trips.
Around 8:30 p.m., pedestrian Darren Lucas, 60, was walking along the roadway. Without warning, McCarty-Wroten's vehicle struck Lucas with devastating force. Rather than showing a roadway hazard or abrupt braking, the video feed captured the sound of sudden impact, vehicle vibrations, and visible shock inside the cabin. Viewers watching the feed in real time realized the severity of the incident seconds before the stream cut off. Responding paramedics transported Lucas to a regional medical center, where physicians pronounced him dead from severe blunt force trauma.
