Who Is Kaitlin Becker? Meet the Actress Behind Meekah and Her Honest Look at Children’s Tv
By Chloe Bennett
In 2020, children’s entertainment underwent a seismic corporate consolidation when Candle Media-backed Moonbug Entertainment acquired the Blippi brand from creator Stevin John. The IP was already pulling billions of monthly views on YouTube. To build out the universe and relieve John of the grueling filming schedule, Moonbug created Meekah, an inventive, purple-clad best friend designed to mirror Blippi’s inquisitive energy while emphasizing creative problem-solving and STEM principles.
Becker won the role, debuting on-screen in 2021. The chemistry was instantaneous, and Moonbug quickly expanded the character into a standalone franchise. Meekah launched as a dedicated spinoff on Netflix and YouTube in 2022, securing top streaming rankings across international markets. For Becker, the scale of exposure shifted overnight. While Sprout had made her a recognizable face to American cable subscribers, the algorithmic reach of modern video platforms placed her likeness into living rooms from London to Singapore.
