Following Tyson's total retreat from public video production, online misinformation filled the void. Throughout 2024 and persisting into 2026, algorithmic platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X saw repeated spikes in claims alleging that Tyson had ceased her hormone therapy and "detransitioned" back to Chris. These claims were routinely paired with fabricated screenshots or out-of-context older photographs depicting Tyson prior to 2023.

Fact-checking investigations, including reporting collated by industry monitors and entertainment outlets like IMDb, thoroughly debunked these narratives. Tyson has made no announcement indicating a reversal of her gender identity or medical path. Her established legal and social name remains Ava Kris Tyson.
