Which Episode Does Mello Die? Exact Chapter, Scene Breakdown, and Evidence
By Alexander Ross
Light had prepared Takada for worst-case scenarios, instructing her to preserve a small scrap of the authentic notebook paper inside her bra along with a miniature ballpoint pen. When Mello briefly turned his attention away to navigate the van and communicate through secured channels, Takada retrieved the hidden parchment.
Because Mello had removed his helmet to speak with her, Takada possessed both his visual likeness and his real name. Mello had previously revealed his face and name to several key figures during his underground operations, and Light had furnished Takada with background intelligence gathered on Wammy's House graduates. She rapidly wrote "Mihael Keehl" onto the scrap of notebook paper, specifying death by heart attack.
Within seconds, Mello slumped forward over the steering wheel, succumbing to an instantaneous cardiac arrest. Takada then telephoned Light to report the incident, prompting Light to write Takada's name in his own hidden scrap, forcing her to set fire to the truck and commit suicide to destroy all evidence.
