Game timing shapes performance. Early kickoffs create distinct physical challenges for teams competing in the SEC. Kirby Smart has historically vocalized frustration over midday starts, arguing that an 11:00 AM or noon whistle suppresses home crowd intensity and disrupts customary nutritional and recovery schedules.
Sanford Stadium operates differently under the sun than under the lights.
