Beck’s transition to feature film lead came through The QB Bad Boy and Me, an adaptation of Tay Marley’s wildly popular digital novel that generated over 31 million reads on the Wattpad platform. Produced by Wattpad Webtoon Studios alongside Creator+, the romantic sports drama cast Beck as Drayton Lahey, a charismatic high school quarterback navigating athletic recruitment alongside an unexpected romance with a fiercely focused dancer.

The project paired Beck’s genuine background as an elite competitive athlete with narrative demands that required emotional vulnerability. Filming took place on tight indie schedules, demanding long rehearsal hours, intricate football choreography, and sustained dramatic chemistry. Rather than relying on simple charisma, Beck handled dramatic beats centered on family expectations, collegiate athletic anxiety, and adolescent identity.

Wattpad Webtoon Studios deliberately designed the film as a vehicle for Beck’s crossover potential. By serving as an executive producer on the title, Beck also gained direct insight into budget allocation, post-production cutting, and marketing strategies, separating him from performers who merely show up for their call times.
