What Is the 'My Level of Patience' Viral Video? the Unfiltered Clip Taking over Tiktok
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
The standard "my level of patience" video relies on abrupt disruption. In traditional comedic sketches, jokes require exposition, a turn, and a punchline. This short-form video format scraps the build-up entirely. The video begins at the precipice of annoyance and concludes with immediate defeat.
Creators lean heavily on mundane situations that go sideways. Examples include untangling a charging cord only to immediately drop it into a trash can, attempting to peel a sticker that tears halfway and instantly abandoning the object, or closing an app the millisecond an unskippable advertisement appears. The humor is relatable precisely because it dispenses with resilience. By publicly embracing total defeat over trivial inconveniences, creators validate the silent urges millions of users suppress during their workdays.
