Watch the Happy Gilmore 2 Trailer: Bad Bunny and Adam Sandler Team up on the Green
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
Seeing an artist with billions of Spotify streams carry a golf bag speaks to Benito’s deliberate strategy in American entertainment. Rather than hunting self-serious vanity projects, he has consistently selected roles that play against type or lean into physical, subversive fun. His run in WWE wasn't a promotional photo-op; he trained for months to execute Canadian Destroyers and dives through tables.
In comedy, timing is entirely dependent on vulnerability. Actors must look ridiculous without winking at the lens. The early footage indicates Benito understands this balance. In one sequence highlighted by Billboard, he matches Sandler scream-for-scream over a botched sand wedge lie, abandoning any persona of polished pop royalty to fully inhabit a low-rent golf hustler. It is a calculated move that endears him to comedy fans who might not otherwise listen to a single track off Un Verano Sin Ti.
