Visual Breakdown: Every Iconic Omni-Man Pose from Invincible to Mortal Kombat 1
By Elena Rostova
Internet culture rarely lets self-serious violence stand without mockery. Parallel to the dramatic "Think, Mark" craze ran a wilder, absurd phenomenon: the "Thicc Omni-Man" meme. The image originated from user-generated fan art that drew Nolan in an exaggerated, crouching back-pose, turning his red-and-white suit into an absurd display of comic proportions.
Set to looping trap remixes of classic video game soundtracks on TikTok and YouTube Shorts, the parody gained millions of impressions throughout 2022 and 2023. It thrived entirely on tonal dissonance. The canonical Omni-Man is a cold, genocidal conqueror who murders the Guardians of the Globe without remorse; the meme turned him into a ridiculous piece of lowbrow digital slapstick. Even Robert Kirkman acknowledged the trend in convention panels, noting that once an image leaves the drafting board, audience ownership completely redefines how a character stands in the public eye.
