Tracking the Audio: Where the Famous 'Shibuya Chaos' Dialogue Actually Comes From
By Marcus Vance
Q1: Did Adam McArthur or any official voice actor say this line in Jujutsu Kaisen?
A1: No. Neither Adam McArthur (Yuji Itadori) nor any member of the official English localization cast speaks the exact line "What the hell is happening in Shibuya" in the official broadcast dub produced for Crunchyroll.
Q2: Why do so many videos tag the line to Marvel Rivals?
A2: Marvel Rivals features an objective-based map named "Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya." Because characters vocalize reactive dialogue when entering the map, clips featuring hero banter overlapping with the viral audio led players to believe the phrase was a confirmed character spawn line.
Q3: How did the audio become famous if it wasn't in an anime episode?
A3: A content creator's reactive livestream comment was extracted, filtered with background distortion to sound like an in-universe radio transmission, and matched with cinematic anime footage. Algorithms promoted the resulting template across millions of feeds.
