Tiktok Live Studio Requirements Fact-Check: Real Criteria vs Rumors
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
Q1: Can I download and use TikTok LIVE Studio on an Apple Mac?
A1: No official macOS client exists. The software is compiled strictly for 64-bit Windows operating systems. Mac users must run a dedicated Windows secondary machine, set up a dual-boot environment, or acquire an official RTMP stream key to broadcast through macOS-compatible software like OBS Studio.
Q2: Why did my LIVE Studio permission vanish after two weeks?
A2: ByteDance routinely issues probationary access periods lasting 7 or 14 days. If you fail to broadcast for a cumulative minimum duration, typically 25 to 30 minutes across multiple sessions, the platform's automated audits automatically revoke the permission until you requalify.
Q3: Is it safe to buy a TikTok stream key from an online agency?
A3: No. Purchasing stream keys from third-party vendors violates the platform's terms of service. Most unauthorized keys rely on hacked API bridges or fraudulent agency dashboards. Once detected, ByteDance permanently suspends the connected TikTok account without an option to appeal.
