By Sarah Jenkins
TikTok's decision to support direct image comments bridges the gap between video-centric feeds and traditional imageboards. What began as a lightweight interface enhancement quickly established an entirely separate comedic layer across the platform. The challenge will center on balancing organic, chaotic internet culture against creator safety and platform hygiene. For now, the comment section remains the most unpredictable, visually inventive corner of the app.
