Who Is Jason Sudeikis's Dad? Clarifying the Confusion Behind the Trending Search

Jason Sudeikis does not use a stage name in the traditional Hollywood sense. His driver’s license simply holds the identity his parents gave him at birth on September 18, 1975, in Fairfax, Virginia: Daniel Jason Sudeikis.
The shift away from his first name happened long before agents or casting directors entered the picture. His father is Daniel Joseph Sudeikis. Within months of bringing their son home, household communication collapsed into total confusion. Every time Jason's mother, Kathryn Wendt Sudeikis, called "Dan!" from the kitchen, both the grown man and the toddler turned their heads.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Sudeikis explained the logistical fix his parents devised. To eliminate the daily chaos, Kathryn and Dan simply decided their son would go by Jason, his legal middle name. The choice stuck for life. When Sudeikis eventually registered with the Screen Actors Guild, he kept the name friends, teachers, and coaches in Kansas had used since preschool.
