The Ultimate Guide to Rolie Polie Olie: Characters, Lore, and Trivia
By Sarah Jenkins
Q1: What is the exact title of the cartoon with characters named Olie and Zowie?
A1: The series is titled Rolie Polie Olie. It was produced by Canadian studio Nelvana and Sparx* Animation, based on the children's books written and illustrated by William Joyce.
Q2: Why was everything floating and round in the show?
A2: The cartoon takes place on Planet Polie, a fictional mechanical world where characters and everyday objects are living geometric robots. A3: The show produced 75 episodes across six seasons between 1998 and 2004, alongside two direct-to-video animated films: The Great Defender of Fun (2002) and The Baby Bot Chase (2003).
