The Ritter Family Tree: Verified Proof Elisa Gayle Ritter Has No Link to John Ritter
By Elena Rostova
The real Elisa Gayle Ritter has an interesting biography of her own, though it sits firmly in Nashville rather than Hollywood. Born in January 1963 in Texas, she became a public name due to her marriage to television producer and music manager Narvel Blackstock.
Elisa married Blackstock in 1973 when both were quite young. Together, they had three children: Chassidy, Shawna, and Brandon Blackstock. The couple divorced in 1988 after roughly 15 years of marriage. Shortly after the split, Narvel Blackstock married country music superstar Reba McEntire, whom he managed for decades.
Decades later, Elisa Gayle Ritter’s name resurfaced in celebrity headlines when her son Brandon Blackstock, also a talent manager, married pop icon Kelly Clarkson in 2013 (a marriage that ended in a publicized divorce in 2021). Because Reba McEntire was Brandon’s stepmother, entertainment blogs frequently misidentified Elisa Gayle Ritter, sometimes running photos of Reba McEntire in articles meant to profile Elisa. That initial layer of identity confusion made it even easier for digital scrapers to cross-wire her profile with John Ritter’s sprawling family tree.
