The Evolution of the Brittany Broski Meme: Every Viral Video That Broke the Internet
By Marcus Vance
Internet fame requires reinvention every eighteen months. Audiences tire of recurring motifs, and platforms punish repetition. Tomlinson avoided stagnation by allowing herself to become raw material for ongoing community humor.
During the summer of 2024, as Charli XCX's Brat aesthetic swept across social media feeds, Tomlinson supplied another foundational visual template. During a collaborative dance video, her chaotic energy peaked with a theatrical, deadpan shove toward her co-star that matched the syncopated tempo of the track. Within days, millions of users lifted the audio-visual sequence for situational skits about work boundaries, friend groups, and retail disputes.
The Brat dance shove confirmed her rare position in modern media: she functions simultaneously as an active satirist and an instinctive physical comedian. Her secondary meme waves did not feel calculated or market-tested. They arrived naturally because she treats digital recording equipment like an open-mic stage rather than a product showcase.
