The Complete Noah Beck Watch Guide: Every Movie, Tv Show, and Where to Stream Them
By Alexander Ross
Beck’s official feature acting debut arrived via Sidelined: The QB and Me, an adaptation of Tay Marley's massively successful novel on Wattpad, which had already racked up over 31 million reads online. The production partnered Wattpad WEBTOON Studios with Tubi, aiming directly at Gen Z and young millennial audiences who consume young-adult romance through free streaming platforms.
Beck stars as Drayton Lahey, an arrogant yet vulnerable star quarterback whose life collides with Dallas, a determined high school dancer played by Siena Agudong. Directed by Justin Wu, the film gave Beck room to utilize his real-life athletic background while handling traditional romantic comedy beats:
- Emotional Grounding: Drayton's character arc addresses intense parental pressure and sports injuries, allowing Beck to tap into his real athletic history.
- Executive Involvement: Beck did not simply show up to read lines; he took an active executive producer credit, participating in script notes, promotional rollout decisions, and post-production discussions.
- Audience Reception: Upon its late-2024 premiere, the film climbed to the top of Tubi's trending charts, earning praise from YA romance communities for the natural chemistry between Beck and Agudong.
The production demonstrated that romantic comedy leads do not have to follow the classic Disney Channel or CW pipeline. By anchoring a Tubi original movie, Beck established a viable model for creator-led independent cinema.
