The Complete Guide to Streaming on Tiktok: Mobile, Pc, and Console Walkthrough
By James H. Sterling
Q1: Can I stream on TikTok without 1,000 followers?
Personal accounts must hit the 1,000 follower requirement to unlock mobile streaming. Certain corporate TikTok Shop sellers and creators managed by verified talent agencies can receive access through backend approvals, but standard users must build their audience organically.
Q2: Where do I find my TikTok RTMP stream key?
Stream keys appear in the creator portal or directly within TikTok LIVE Studio for accounts with unlocked desktop privileges. If your account lacks direct RTMP access, you must stream using the official TikTok LIVE Studio PC application or mobile app until the platform grants stream credentials.
Q3: What internet connection speeds are required for smooth streaming?
Mobile broadcasts run reliably on an upload speed of 5 to 10 Mbps. For dual-canvas OBS streaming and 1080p 60fps broadcasts, maintain an upload speed of at least 15 to 20 Mbps over an Ethernet connection to prevent network stutter and frame drops.
Q4: How does TikTok split creator revenue from stream gifts?
Viewers buy virtual coins to send gifts, which the platform converts into Diamonds for creators. TikTok retains an estimated 50% cut of gift valuations before creators withdraw remaining balances to linked bank accounts or PayPal.
