The Complete Guide to Fortnite's Black Male Skins: Names, Rarity, and How to Get Them

An essential feature on The Complete Guide to Fortnite's Black Male Skins: Names, Rarity, and How to Get Them, featuring key takeaways.

Spitfire is the official name of the original Black male default character model introduced when Fortnite launched in 2017. Before players started spending billions on microtransactions, everyone dropped from the Battle Bus assigned to one of eight randomized base avatars. Spitfire was instantly recognizable by his shaved head, muscular build, and military-issue fatigues.

Epic Games used Spitfire’s physical framework across dozens of distinct cosmetic releases. If you see a skin sharing his facial features under different armor sets, tactical gear, or sports jerseys, it stems directly from this core asset. When Epic Games refreshed the default roster in Chapter 2, they introduced a newer Black male default model named Duke, sporting a distinct haircut and updated tactical gear. In late 2020, Epic officially released the "Origins" set in the Item Shop, allowing players to purchase Spitfire permanently under the skin name "Vintage Ramirez & Vanguard Spitfire" variants for 800 V-Bucks.
