The Complete Guide to Carli Foxx: Discography, Band History, and Essential Tracks
By Chloe Bennett
In June 2021, The Rumours unveiled the standalone single "Want Ya," paired with a stylized alternative rock music video that showcased their live chemistry. The track marked a distinct turning point in Foxx's guitar production. Built on a churning, down-tuned riff and an infectious rhythm cadence, the song balanced radio-ready hooks with unvarnished basement rock volume.
Music outlets took note. A prominent Guitar Girl Magazine feature spotlighted Foxx's guitar work, celebrating her technical approach to rhythm tone and her perspective as an independent woman fronting a touring rock band. The press coverage broadened the band's audience well beyond the borders of Iowa, attracting listeners from European punk communities and West Coast indie hubs.
What sets "Want Ya" apart in their indie rock discography is restraint. Rather than overdubbing dozens of tracks or adding synthetic layers, the band kept the production dry. Foxx's vocals sit upfront, untreated by pitch correction, letting voice cracks and aggressive breathing punctuate the arrangement. That authenticity made the song a mainstay in their live setlists.
