Tested up to J Cup: Proof That Modern Strapless Bras Actually Stay up for H Cups
A strapless bra for H cup busts cannot function if the wearer is fitted using outdated sizing conventions. The lingering "+4 method", where a fitter measures the ribcage and artificially adds four inches to determine the band, destroys strapless support. If a person with a 32-inch underbust and a 42-inch bust wears a 36DDD instead of a true UK 32GG or US 32J, the band diameter is four inches too wide.
A loose band shifts the entire mechanical load onto nonexistent straps. Without shoulder suspension, the band rides up the back shoulder blades. When the back band rises, the front cups drop. Proper bra sizing requires the underband to fit snugly parallel to the floor on its loosest hook setting. The band must grip the skeletal frame firmly enough that it resists downward drag when the wearer lifts their arms. For strapless wear, getting professionally measured or using the six-measurement volumetric sizing standard is non-negotiable.
