Superway Aquarium Hayward Recent Updates: Community Buzz and Store Status
By Chloe Bennett
Q1: Is Superway Aquarium permanently closing in 2026?
A1: No. The store remains open for business. Viral rumors regarding its closure were caused by extensive internal tank replumbing projects and a schedule reduction down to a four-day operational week.
Q2: What are the current operating hours for Superway Aquarium?
A2: As of mid-2026, the retail floor operates Thursday through Sunday from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The shop remains closed to the public Monday through Wednesday for tank cleaning, deliveries, and wholesale receiving.
Q3: Does Superway stock saltwater fish and reef supplies?
A3: Superway specializes primarily in freshwater livestock, with an emphasis on African and Central American cichlids, oddballs, and hardy community fish. Saltwater marine livestock and coral reef fragments are generally not stocked.
Q4: How can I confirm if a specific fish is in stock before driving to Hayward?
A4: Because the shop does not publish an automated live online stocklist, the most reliable method is calling the store directly during open retail hours (Thursday through Sunday) to ask the staff to visually check the holding tanks.
