Step-by-Step Screen Guide: How to Delete a Snapchat Story on iOS and Android
If the snap has already uploaded and friends can view it, you must execute an active server-side purge. The removal process takes identical steps across both major operating platforms.
Open Snapchat and tap your profile avatar or Bitmoji in the upper-left corner of the camera interface. Locate the section labeled My Story. Tap directly on your story preview circle to launch the media playback, or tap the three small dots beside the story row to reveal individual snap thumbnails. While the target snap plays, swipe upward from the bottom edge of the display to expose the status drawer. Alternatively, tap the vertical three-dot menu located in the top-right corner.
Tap the prominent trash can icon. Snapchat will display a confirmation modal asking: "Delete this Snap?" Confirm by tapping Delete. The media file vanishes immediately from all active client feeds worldwide. Anyone currently in the middle of viewing your story reel will be dropped out of the clip once the local stream buffer runs dry.
