Shahbagh Metro Station Assault: Cctv Footage, Crime Scene Evidence, and Police Investigation
By Alexander Ross
The assault at Shahbagh has forced a reckoning with the stark inequalities carved into Dhaka's modern landscape. High above the street, air-conditioned trains carry commuters across the city on schedule. Down below, vulnerable young workers face unchecked danger in the shadows of the very pillars holding up that system. Catching the perpetrator through video analysis and forensic evidence is the essential first step. Long-term progress, however, requires closing the legal and municipal blind spots that leave street-connected children unprotected in the capital's busiest spaces.
