Oklahoma City Thunder Player Guide: Full Roster, Depth Chart, and Prospect History
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
What is the Oklahoma City Thunder's projected starting five for 2026, 27?
The primary projected starting unit consists of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at point guard, Alex Caruso and Lu Dort forming a physical wing defense, Jalen Williams operating as an all-around forward, and Chet Holmgren anchoring the middle at center. Matchup adjustments frequently introduce Isaiah Hartenstein into the frontcourt alongside Holmgren.
How does the front office handle the looming luxury tax and salary cap aprons?
Oklahoma City balances maximum contracts for their primary stars by stocking the rotation with rookie-scale contracts and value-priced multi-year deals like those signed by Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe. This structure allows the team to field a championship contender while avoiding severe second-apron roster penalties.
What role do Exhibit 10 contracts play during training camp?
Exhibit 10 agreements allow Oklahoma City to bring high-upside prospects into training camp on non-guaranteed deals with financial incentives to join the Oklahoma City Blue in the G League if waived. This serves as an audition for open two-way contract slots or mid-season roster call-ups.
Why was Oklahoma City's bench rotation a focal point during the off-season?
Postseason analysis from the 2026 playoffs indicated that opposing scouting reports successfully exploited non-creators on the second unit. The team spent the summer prioritizing secondary playmaking and high-percentage perimeter shooting from its reserve players to avoid offensive stalls in the playoffs.
