Mystic Remora Art, Variants, and Market Value: from Ice Age to Modern Foils
By Robert Thorne
Mystic Remora remains one of the most mechanically successful designs to escape the experimental wild west of mid-90s Magic. It achieves what modern card design often struggles to balance: immense political disruption and velocity at negligible initial casting cost, restrained cleanly by a ticking upkeep clock.
Whether you choose to run a beat-up Ice Age copy or a pristine retro-frame foil from modern master sets, its place in deckbuilding is secure. As Commander speeds up and players rely more heavily on compact noncreature interaction, this thirty-year-old common will continue to dictate the opening turns of pods across every format tier.
Robert Thorne covers electric vehicle innovations, autonomous driving systems, global mobility trends, and automotive engineering developments.
