Early bit parts in Eddie Murphy projects like Harlem Nights (1989) and Boomerang (1992) revealed an innate charisma that outshone minimal screen time. In Oliver Stone’s sprawling football expose Any Given Sunday (1999), Rochon held her own opposite Al Pacino and Jamie Foxx as Vanessa Struthers. She refused to play the role as a generic sports wife, bringing calculating calculation to a film dominated by hyper-masculine aggression.
