Kpop Demon Hunters Universe Expands: from Secret Lair Cards to Theatrical Sequel
By Sarah Jenkins
Q1: Why is KPop Demon Hunters 2 arriving in theaters instead of streaming directly on Netflix?
A1: Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos noted that the franchise's global reach warrants a traditional theatrical run. Partnering with Sony Pictures Animation allows the production to target a worldwide box office audience before landing on the streaming service.
Q2: When will KPop Demon Hunters 2 officially premiere?
A2: The film is scheduled for release in 2029. This timeline allows the animation studio full creative runway for complex character design, musical score composition, and international vocal synchronization.
Q3: What items are included in the new Secret Lair Magic: The Gathering drop?
A3: The Secret Lair x KPop Demon Hunters: How It’s Done drop includes mechanically unique or reskinned Magic cards inspired by Mira and the demon hunting idol group, sold alongside an exclusive collectible Friendship Kit.
