Kaitlin Becker's Career Journey: from Sprout Host to Meekah and Beyond
Before entering television, Becker trained rigorously for the stage. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Northern Kentucky University, spending her early twenties performing in summer stock, regional theater circuits, and touring productions. That stage training provided the vocal control, comedic timing, and stamina that children's television requires.
Breaking into New York's competitive commercial acting scene meant enduring years of cattle calls and temp jobs. Becker worked consistently across stage productions, voiceover booths, and live events, building the discipline to sustain energy during grueling rehearsal weeks. When Sprout executives launched auditions for an energetic, authentic host capable of handling unscripted live broadcasts, Becker brought theatrical professionalism to the room. She was cast as the lead host of The Sunny Side Up Show, stepping straight into Rockefeller Center.
