Ishowspeed Reunites with 'My Mom Is Kinda Homeless' Kid Behind Viral Laugh Meme
By James H. Sterling
Finding a random gamer tag from 2020 presents massive practical hurdles. Gamers change handles, abandon old Epic Games profiles, or age out of the games they played during early adolescence. For years, fans continuously asked Watkins on stream whether he ever heard from the kid again. Speculation ran wild across Reddit and YouTube comment sections, with dozens of impersonators attempting to claim credit for the audio track.
Watkins' production team launched a targeted search in late 2025. After cross-referencing old server logs, lobby histories, and reaching out privately through social channels, they confirmed the player's identity through verifiable voice and account matches. In late October 2025, Watkins announced on stream that the reunion was finally locked in, sending waves of anticipation through his community.
When the two finally linked up on camera, the contrast was striking. The squeaky kid from the headset was now an older teenager, stunned to find himself sitting virtually face-to-face with one of the most recognized internet personalities on the planet. Watkins addressed the awkward elephant in the room immediately, asking how life had unfolded over the intervening five years and verifying that the player's family had stabilized their living situation since that chaotic 2020 afternoon.
