Is the Aldc Pittsburgh Studio Still There? Photos, Address, and Current Reality
The closure of the Pennsylvania facility was not sudden; it was the final chapter in a prolonged institutional decline that began midway through the show's run. By late 2014, Miller redirected her focus toward Southern California, leasing a warehouse space in Los Angeles to open ALDC LA. The geographic split immediately strained the program's operations and fractured the team's dynamics.
Longtime assistant choreographer Gianna Martello and several senior instructors were left to balance classes between time zones, but the Pennsylvania roster lost its prestige students to West Coast production commitments. Miller’s public focus shifted to red-carpet appearances, celebrity masterclasses, and her new Santa Monica Boulevard facility. By the time Miller entered federal custody in 2017 following bankruptcy fraud charges, the Penn Hills operation was functioning on a skeleton crew.
Subsequent health battles, including Miller’s diagnosis and treatment for Burkitt lymphoma, permanently halted any operational reboot in western Pennsylvania. The Los Angeles studio itself closed during the early 2020s, leaving the entire physical network of ALDC brick-and-mortar studios dismantled.
