Is Rob Schneider in Happy Gilmore 2? Truth Behind the Netflix Sequel Rumors
By Sarah Jenkins
Rumors of a Rob Schneider cameo ignited the moment Netflix officially greenlit the project. For over three decades, Schneider served as a foundational fixture of Happy Madison Productions, showing up in projects ranging from The Waterboy and Big Daddy to 50 First Dates and Grown Ups. Audiences instinctively expected him to pop up on the sidelines.
Social media speculation peaked when online forums began recirculating clips of his iconic "You can do it!" townie character. Fans debated whether that memorable catchphrase, originally shouted in The Waterboy before crossing over into Little Nicky and The Longest Yard, would finally find its way onto a championship golf fairway. Online chatter treated his involvement as a foregone conclusion. Unverified cast lists on social platforms quickly circulated Schneider’s name alongside genuine returning performers, creating widespread confusion that took months of production disclosures to correct.
