Attackers do not target individuals by name. They use automated network tools to scan massive swathes of public IP addresses for open streaming ports. If an IP camera at your address responds and accepts a default password, the bot records your stream and adds it to the Telegram channel inventory automatically.
Does changing the factory password keep my security camera safe?
A strong, unique password closes the easiest entry point, but it does not fix underlying firmware flaws or unencrypted cloud relays. True security also requires disabling UPnP on your home router, closing open RTSP ports, and isolating cameras on an encrypted guest network.
Can private cameras with cloud encryption still be leaked?
