How to Beat Night 7 & 8: the Definitive Fnaf 4 Nightmare Survival Guide
At 4:00 AM sharp, the bedroom goes completely dead. Nightmare Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy vanish from memory. In their place stands Nightmare, an aggressive entity operating at maximum AI speed. His presence simplifies your physical checks while multiplying your mental strain.
Nightmare sprints rapidly across the perimeter. Heavy, thunderous footsteps will shift hard from your left ear to your right ear through stereo headphones. When the footsteps stop on one side, run to that door, peek, and pulse your flashlight. If his red eyes and sharp jaw appear at the end of the hall, immediately hold the door closed until you hear him sprint to the opposite side.
The core trap lies in his demonic laugh. Scott Cawthon coded two distinct scenarios for Nightmare's laugh pattern:
First, if Nightmare laughs but his footsteps continue moving immediately afterward, he has executed a fake laugh. He has merely shifted hallways. Checking the bed or closet during a fake laugh exposes you to a fatal hallway flank.
Second, if Nightmare laughs and the running footsteps instantly cease, he has breached the interior bedroom. He is guaranteed to be in one of two places: the bed or the closet. Turn around and sweep the bed with your flashlight. If his disembodied head rests on the mattress, sustain the beam until he dissolves. If the bed is clear, sprint to the closet, shut the doors, and hold them for a continuous 3 to 4 seconds to banish him back to the corridors.
