From Viral Tiktoks to Business Mogul: the Evolution of Hannah Chody
Austin grocery shoppers had long known Fronks. Founded as an unpasteurized, freshly pressed dairy alternative, the brand developed an intense cult following among local baristas and clean-food enthusiasts. Its formula stood out: simple sprouted almonds, cashews, dates, filtered water, and sea salt, served in reusable screen-printed glass bottles. It contained zero gums, emulsifiers, or seed oils.
Operational realities, however, catch up with boutique beverage companies. Cold-chain logistics, fresh ingredient sourcing, and short product shelf lives routinely compress margins. By 2024, Fronks struggled to stay on shelves and eventually paused operations, leaving loyal customers without an alternative.
Chody saw an opening. Having featured the nut milk regularly in her morning coffee clips, she bought the brand assets in late 2024.
The revival plan went into effect immediately:
- Overhauled the local commercial processing footprint to ensure batch consistency without altering the original five-ingredient recipe.
- Elevated the visual identity, retaining the signature heavy glass bottle while refining typography and distribution materials to appeal to modern health-conscious shoppers.
- Direct Community Distribution: Reconnected with boutique Austin grocers like Tiny Grocer, Royal Blue Grocery, and upscale independent coffee shops, while documenting the entire commercial ramp-up on TikTok.
When boxes of revived Fronks landed back in Texas coolers, Chody did not need a six-figure outdoor billboard campaign. A single 45-second TikTok video showing her stocking shelves and testing production batches generated immediate sellouts across several independent Austin locations in under 48 hours.
