| Era | Cultural Anchor | Dominant Format | Social Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1992, 1999 | Sneakers, Hackers, The Matrix | Screenplay dialogue / Film releases | Earnest narrative device for computer illiteracy |
| 2004, 2014 | Network TV procedurals (CSI, NCIS) | Static 2-panel image macros (Impact font) | Ironic mockery of absurd TV hacking logic |
| 2019, 2022 | Rick and Morty Heist Parody | HD screen grabs / Reddit image templates | Peer pressure and bad financial/gaming decisions |
| 2023, 2026 | Short-form video & AI remix culture | TikTok stitch audio, Discord reaction GIFs | Everyday agreement with questionable plans |
