Foggy Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again: Full Timeline of Elden Henson's Cast Status
By Chloe Bennett
When Netflix canceled Daredevil in November 2018, contractual clauses barred Marvel Studios from using the characters for two full years. Once the moratorium lapsed in late 2020, fans anticipated a straightforward continuation. Instead, Marvel executives opted for an aggressive reinvention. When head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord began developing the revival series in 2022, their script excised Henson entirely. Deborah Ann Woll, who played Karen Page, was similarly dropped.
The decision provoked widespread criticism across Reddit communities and entertainment trades. Industry trackers noted that the camaraderie among Henson, Woll, and Cox accounted for the critical acclaim of the early seasons. Stripping the narrative of Foggy Nelson signaled to dedicated viewers that Marvel Studios prioritized brand integration over grounded character writing. Cox voiced his discomfort at conventions, stating repeatedly that doing a full series without Henson and Woll felt fundamentally incomplete.
