Fact-Checking Jodi Lynn Calaway: the Truth About Her Marriage, Split, and Son with the Undertaker
In professional wrestling, second-generation sons face immense internal and external pressure to lace up boots. From Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes to Bron Breakker, the lineage pipeline is an established industry tradition. Many fans long assumed Gunner Vincent Calaway would eventually step into the WWE Performance Center to claim his father's mantle.
Gunner deliberately chose a different path.
Showing artistic talent from an early age, Gunner pursued higher education far away from wrestling rings. He enrolled at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, ironically the very campus where WWE filmed its developmental brand, NXT. Instead of stepping into the squared circle, Gunner earned a Bachelor of Science in Game Art.
In public appearances on digital media and gaming channels, Gunner clarified that while he respects his father’s legendary legacy, he had no interest in entering the squared circle. Instead, he channeled his creativity into digital illustration, video game asset design, and character modeling. By carving out an independent identity as an artist and streamer, Gunner validated both his father’s and mother’s decision to keep his childhood out of wrestling programming.
