When Atlantic Records sent the single to digital storefronts in February 2009, consumer response broke tracking infrastructure. The track achieved a Billboard Hot 100 number one debut week that set the historic benchmark for paid music downloads. With 636,000 digital units sold in seven days, it topped the previous record held by Flo Rida's own breakout single "Low" featuring T-Pain.

That commercial velocity stemmed from strategic timing. The track captured the transition where radio dominance required massive iTunes velocity to secure chart longevity. Flo Rida’s verses delivered rapid-fire Southern bounce, but Kesha’s delivery of the chorus carried the melodic weight that drew in non-hip-hop listeners across Europe, North America, and Australia. The track sat atop the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks, eventually moving over five million certified digital copies in the United States alone.
