Fact Check: What Does Ynw Stand for and Who Were the Original Members?
By Chloe Bennett
The night of October 25, 2018, began routinely at a recording studio near Fort Lauderdale. Surveillance footage showed Demons, Williams, Thomas, and Henry walking out together in the early morning hours, piling into a dark Jeep Compass. A second car carried other associates from their wider circle.
Hours later, Cortlen Henry pulled the Jeep into Memorial Hospital Miramar with the bullet-riddled bodies of Sakchaser and Juvy inside. Henry told trauma nurses and homicide detectives that an unknown car had opened fire on them in traffic on Miramar Parkway. But forensic investigators dismantled that account over the following weeks.
Autopsy reports revealed that both victims were shot at close range from inside the vehicle, specifically from the left rear passenger position, the exact seat surveillance footage showed Jamell Demons entering. Bloodstain pattern analysis demonstrated that the victims were already dead when external shots were fired through the vehicle's exterior panels, pointing to a staged crime scene. Cell site location data placed Melly’s personal mobile phone in an isolated Everglades brush area where shell casings were later found, directly coinciding with the estimated time of death.
