Everything You Need to Know About the Kevin Hart 'Damn' Don Cheadle Exchange
By Elena Rostova
Peacock premiered Hart to Heart in July 2021 with an explicit premise: remove the studio audience, ban pre-interview cue cards, pour vintage wine, and let two working artists speak without publicists hovering in the wings. Traditional late-night talk shows rely heavily on pre-planned anecdotes vetted by producers during afternoon phone calls. Hart inverted that structure. Armed with a glass of red wine in a leather armchair, he approached guests with the loose, wandering curiosity of a lounge host rather than an interrogator.
Episode 4 featured Don Cheadle, an actor celebrated equally for his Oscar-nominated dramatic roles in films like Hotel Rwanda and his precise comic timing in Ocean's Eleven. The conversation flowed naturally through career milestones, systemic racism in Hollywood, and personal longevity. Because both men had known each other for years, their guard was down. The setting invited honesty, but it also stripped away the mental filters that typically guard televised speech.
